Home Support Services

Home Support Services help senior citizens & individuals with disabilities with household chores, meal preparation & shopping thereby assisting these people to remain independent in their own homes.

Home Support Services support families, under the stress of being over burdened with responsibilities, who qualify for the program.

What are the Duties of Home Support?

Duties are planned by the client & the Home Support Coordinator when services are authorized.  Duties will vary in each home situation. Home Support staff may prepare meals, do laundry, iron, make beds, sweep & mop floors, vacuum & dust, clean bathrooms, shop & provide companionship.

What does the Service Cost?

This service, which is available weekdays, may be subsidized by FCSS/RCHHS. Rates are pre-set. The FCSS/RCHHS Board reviews these rates annually.

For Example:

On a short-term basis, Home Support Services can help people who have just come home from the hospital & need an extra hand for a few days; scheduled weekly or monthly visits can be arranged for a longer term. Care is planned specifically to the client’s  needs.

FCSS also has sheepskins for lending to palliative community members in medical need of them.*
