Rimbey Community Home Help Services is an Alberta Health Services contracted service provider that provides personal care to clients in Rimbey, the west half of Ponoka County, the communities of Alder Flats, Buck Lake, Winfield, Breton and surrounding areas.

We are seeking assistance in our Personal Care program for the summer vacation season and the position could lead beyond this term. A Health Care Aide certificate or previous experience is an asset.

Health Care Aide certificate and registration.

Job description:
Rimbey Community Home Help Services is currently looking for an On call RN - This position is strictly on call with no onsite work required.
​
Responsibilities
-
Respond to phone calls immediately: remain available by phone during assigned shifts to answer calls or return calls within a 15-minute time frame.

Solve problems remotely: provide remote supervision and guidance to Health Care Aides working in Home Care outside of regular office hours. This includes:
-
assisting in the resolution of issues that arise during medication assistance;
-
providing guidance as needed to ensure daily care and/or restricted activities are completed safely and thoroughly;
-
using clinical judgement to offer appropriate advice in response to any other concerns/issues the Health Care Aide may have regarding their client’s care/condition.
-
Communicate with other on-call staff: determine if issues require immediate guidance from, or reporting to, the Alberta Health Case Manager on-call. Communicate with the Health Care Aide on-call supervisor as necessary to address concerns/issues.

Use of technology: basic technology skills required to operate mobile phone Teams application
-
Strong understanding of the Health Care Aide scope of practice in Home Care, the medication assistance program, and the Incident Reporting process at Rimbey Community Home Help Services.

Schedule:
-
14 days on, 14 days off. Or as mutually agreed upon with the RCHHS RN Educator sharing the role.

Receive calls outside regular office hours-from 1630-0830 daily, statutory holidays, weekends, and weekday lunch hour (1200-1300)

Compensation:
-
$816 per week on call – Plus hourly wage for time spent on calls.

$15 per week on call for personal phone use
